“There’s a lot of things involved (in Knight’s recruitment),” said David Beckerman, Brandon Knight’s coach. “Someone says, ‘do you want to be John Wall’s replacement (at Kentucky)?’ Another one says, ‘Is Kemba Walker going to be back (at UConn)?’ And this one says, ‘what will the team you’re going to play with be like? Are you going to be playing with enough good players to get you in the national spotlight at the Final Four? Brandon is a very special, unique student-athlete. He has a 4.2 (cumulative GPA), could probably go to any school in the country without bouncing a ball, and I do know that UConn has always been high on his list.”
