Pike senior standout Marquis Teague sat out Friday’s 82-65 win over Warren Central as a precaution after he injured his left knee late in a win over Howe on Feb. 12. Teague, the 6-2 Kentucky recruit, said he would play in Pike’s Class 4A Sectional 12 first-round game against Brownsburg on Wednesday at Decatur Central. “He could have played if we had to have him,” Pike coach Bill Zychsaid. “We talked about it and I made the decision that it was going to be best for us to rest him. He wanted to play, but we didn’t even bring his uniform.” Teague is averaging 22.7 points, 5.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds.
