John Calipari has a rare opportunity today. He has a chance to reach his first Final Four. At least, the first one that isn’t stricken from the record books because his star player ran afoul of NCAA law. Funny thing about that. This Kentucky team doesn’t really have a star player, not like Marcus Camby, who led Calipari’s 1996 UMass team to the Final Four, or Derrick Rose, who drove Cal’s 2008 Memphis team to the brink of a national title.
