John Calipari and The Dominicans easily defeat Cuba in debut

The Dominican Republic began the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship with an easy victory over Cuba, 90-60, with24 points and 9 rebounds by Al Horford.  In spite of an erratic first minutes, Cuba was able to take advantage of its quick game taking a 6-2 lead in the first 4 minutes, which forced to call for a time-out. Nontheless, a good passing game between Garcia and Baez gave the Dominicans the chance to tie the game. The rest of the first quarter was purely Dominican and they finished it in front, 18-8, after a 11-2 roll.
