Napoleon said, “If you start to take Vienna, take Vienna.” And if you're going to build a college sports empire, as Mike Slive appears to be doing with the SEC, then, by golly, you'd better build it big, which is exactly what's happening. On the heels of the announcement of a new college bowl game between the winners of the SEC and Big 12 (or the runners-up if the college football playoff system features either or both conference champions), reports have emerged that Slive is now making noise about branding an SEC television network, a deal that would surely shower vast riches on a conference that is already the most powerful in college sports.
