John Calipari is “the most underrated defensive coach in the country”. Says who? A darn good defensive coach in his own right, Cincinnati’s Mick Cronin. Speaking yesterday at the 2nd Annual All-Star Coaches Clinic to benefit the Brayden Carr Foundation, Cronin touched upon the Wildcat mentor during his hour long lecture (which was outstanding by the way) to over 400 attendees. Cronin specifically mentioned last year’s national semifinal game against Louisville in which UK bottled up the Cardinals 69-61, held them to 34 percent shooting and continually chased their rivals off the 3-point line, limiting the 30-game winners to only four makes from long range.
