Every year it gets bigger and more elaborate. Every year the fans show up by the thousands. Every year they're provided with moments they will never forget. In 2010 it was the John Wall dance. The next year it was Enes Kanter's “Undertaker” intro. And last season it was the riveting state of the program speech from John Calipari. This year's edition of the Big Blue Madness fit all the criteria. Ushering in the 2012-13 season with another extravagant show for a sold-out crowd at Rupp Arena, the men's and women's basketball teams opened the new year with a special on-court video show, some flashy dance moves and a scrimmage. The highlight – the everlasting memory fans will take from the 2012 edition of Big Blue Madness years from now – was the re-raising of Kentucky's eight national championship banners.
