This week, Kentucky began practicing game situations. Up eight, down eight. Down three, needing a shot from beyond the arc. Getting a score late in the clock. This week, they're doing this. The Wildcats have played five games already.
Two of those games were against Maryland and Duke. Kentucky did not have one set of zone offense installed for those games. Not one. Nor a press-break mechanism. Nothing.
“It will probably be late January, February, until we'll really know, OK, here's how we need to play,” coach John Calipari said over the phone Wednesday.
