Emmanuel Mudiay used to worry about recruiting rankings. Now, even though he’s almost universally considered as the nation’s best or second-best high school junior point guard, he views seeking the top spot as a trivial pursuit.
“My mom just told me to play for God’s glory, and ever since she told me that, I threw everything out the window, and I just play,” he said. “I don’t worry about rankings no more.”
Playing for God and following the Christian values his mother instilled in him is a key component in the life of Mudiay, the phenom for Dallas’ Prime Prep team, which knocked off Andrew Wiggins-led Huntington Prep 59-46 at the Cancer Research Classic on Friday night.
