For the 27th time in his career, including 10 postseason games, Rajon Rondo recorded a triple-double on Thursday night. The performance came during an 89-86 loss to the New York Knicks at the TD Garden as Rondo contributed 23 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in 41 minutes. He also had three steals and turned the ball over four times.
“(The loss) wipes it out,’’ said Rondo, who has four triple-doubles this season. “It’s kind of irrelevant. Say you score 40 or 50 points. If you lose, you lose.’’
Rondo made 10 of 19 shots and had 14 of his points in the second half. He hit three jumpers in the fourth quarter, going 4-for-5 in the final 12 minutes.
