New Orleans Hornets rookies Anthony Davis and Darius Miller played in front of John Calipari, for the first time this season on Wednesday night.

rookies  and  played in front of their college coach, 's John Calipari, for the first time this season on Wednesday night at the New Orleans Arena.  After watching Davis score 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Hornets' 105-91 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Calipari left impressed by Davis' progress after 57 games played in the as a rookie.

“ What I liked is that the Clips went right at Anthony physically and he held his own,'' Calipari said. “He didn't get thrown around and he made that run in the second half and made baskets.''

After leading the Wildcats to a national championship last season as a freshman playing for Calipari, Davis was the No.1 overall pick by the Hornets in the 2012 NBA draft and is averaging 13.2 points and 8.0 rebounds as a rookie. Darius, a four-year player at Kentucky, was a second-round pick by the Hornets.
