The University of Kentucky basketball team may not be in the NCAA tournament this year, but a key figure in the legendary program's history was celebrated last night at a local library,
Kentucky Chautauqua actor Edward B. Smith brought legendary University of Kentucky coach Adolph Rupp to life last night in a living history performance at the Erlanger branch of Kenton County Public Library.
Rupp, who coached 42 years at UK, raised basketball to near-religious status in the commonwealth. His teams won 880 games, four national championships and one Olympic gold medal.
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter's Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
