Center Anthony Davis has not forgotten his Chicago roots.

The Chicago native and former first-round draft pick, donated $65,000 for a basketball court at his alma mater the school announced yesterday. According to school officials, the school has no gymnasium.

Davis was an unknown basketball player at Perspectives Charter Schools' Rodney D. Joslin Campus before a rapid growth spurt turned him into one of the most sought after recruits in the country during the 2011 season. Davis played his only season of college basketball with the University of Kentucky. During that season, he led the Wildcats to a National Championship.

Davis averaged 13 points and eight rebounds during his rookie season with the Pelicans.
