
It’s been said that to make a great omelet, you have to crack a few eggs. Turns out that to build a great basketball team, one might have be break a few players, too.
Though painful in the beginning, that transformation began to reveal itself on Saturday when Kentucky played its best overall game in dismantling Georgia 79-54 at Rupp Arena.
“This stuff is a process,” UK coach John Calipari said. “This was a good game for us. We’re learning. They’re trying.”
On Saturday, Kentucky had balanced scoring, good passing and stifling defense. A few months ago, they had none of that.
