For much of this season, Kentucky coach John Calipari has offered up an important question regarding his young basketball team?
“The biggest thing,” the coach warned, “is that when adversity hits will you come together?”
For much of the year, the answer was no. In fact, the Cats lost three of four to end the regular season. But when it mattered most – during Kentucky’s SEC Tournament opener against LSU on Friday night – the answer was an emphatic yes.
“It’s a cliche, but just refuse to lose. Find a will to win,” freshman Andrew Harrison said. “It’s being ready at all times. You know they’re a great team, so they’re going to go on a run. You just have to take the punch and keep fighting.”
