For most of the season college basketball fans have wondered what would happen if Wisconsin and Kentucky were to meet again after a 2014 Final Four classic.
That question will be answered Saturday in Indianapolis.
“The personnel is different, but of course I looked at it. But, you know, they're a different team,” Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan told reporters in Madison Tuesday. “I think it's easier for them to look at us than it is for us to look at them…I looked at 10 films today — couple of games where I only looked at a half, but, no, they're different. They're undefeated for a reason.”
Eight of the nine Wisconsin players who appeared in the 2014 Final Four matchup are back this season. Gone is 2014 senior guard Ben Brust, who tied for the team lead with 15 points vs. the Wildcats. Among players who have appeared in at least 30 of Wisconsin's 38 games this season, only redshirt sophomore Zak Showalter, who averages 7.7 minutes per game, did not play in the 2014 Final Four matchup.
