Isaiah Miranda — a 7-foot-1 prospect from Rhode Island — has been on the periphery of UK’s recruiting radar in recent months, and the Cats could be ready to take the next step in their pursuit. Miranda scored 28 points and shot 13-for-19 from the field in a game at the high-profile National Prep Showcase over the weekend, and Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua was in attendance.
National recruiting expert Andrew Slater reported Monday that Miranda was planning to take a recruiting visit to Lexington sometime around Christmas, and it was confirmed Tuesday that he will be in town for the Kentucky-Louisville game Dec. 22. That will be an official visit. Miranda already has scholarship offers from UConn, Memphis, Oklahoma State and Southern Cal, among others, and that offer list is certain to expand over the course of his junior season.
